Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute mushrooms and onions until soft. Add garlic. Saute 30 seconds or 1 minute. Mix in cooked beef.

Step 2

Reserve 1/3 cup beef broth. Stir in remaining broth, if using, beef granules and ketchup Cover, simmer 15 minutes.

Step 3

Meanwhile whisk the reserved 1/3 cup of broth with flour until it's smooth. Stir into meat and mushroom mixture mixing constntly over medium heat. Simmer 5 minutes stirring all the time until mixture is thickened. Add salt and pepper.

Step 4

Turn off heat. Stir in sour cream. Do not boil. Serve over noodles.

I made half the recipe and, like Pat, used the whole amount of liquid. It was great! Easy and tasty!

I scaled back for one serve though did add extra liquid as I felt that the amount required for one serve would boil away in the simmering process otherwise made as per recipe which was delicious and oh so filling so much so that I have a small serve for tomorrow's lunch which I will serve with a garden salad, thank you Darla Mason - made for What's On The Menu tag game at FF&F.
