Bean & Sausage Stew
"This is another version of the Great Northern Bean Stew that I found in the TOH 2005 Annual Recipes. It was sent to them by Mildred Sherrer of Bay City ,TX. I've already made one recipe based off of the original, Spicy Sausage & Vegetable Stew. If you like, you can adjust the amount of seasonings and the heat level of the sausage.If you like you can let simmer a bit longer. This,like most stews the longer they simmer the better. Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a dutch oven over medium heat,add sausage and onion then cook until meat is lightly browned and onion is tender .
Step 2
If needed drain,then return to pan and add remaining ingredients and stir well.
Step 3
Bring to a boil ,cover and reduce heat to simmer for 50 minutes , stir occasionally until veggies are tender.
