"This is a recipe that I used to make all the time when DH and I had Kids at home and money was a big issue. It is off a recipe card from Betty Crocker back in 1971. It's from the "Best before payday dinner" card. I used it a lot and still make it once in a while because it is so good."

They’re like little meatloaf patties with just enough sauce to make them flavorful but not dripping in it. We really enjoyed these! I don’t typically use oats in this sort of dish (breadcrumbs usually) so it was nice to change things up. The BBQ sauce was very oniony but we like that. Made as directed without any changes to the recipe.

These were very easy and made a good lunch for us today. I used about 2/3 the amount of milk. I made them into 4 little meatloaves with sauce. Served with mashed potatoes.

I really enjoyed this recipe. I did find it too wet after I added the milk (I used coconut milk from the milk isle, not the canned style). I added a little extra oatmeal but it didn't really firm up, so I made it as a small meatloaf (I cut down the beef to 1/2 lb). I also was thinking the BBQ sauce might have too much onions and not enough sauce, but I was wrong. It was great.

We enjoyed your tasty beefies Teresa. They sure are good on a cold winter day like we had yesterday. I really like the barbecue sauce that goes with it but next time will make more. Thank you for sharing. Made it for Pick Me tag game.
