Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2
Place potatoes cut side down in a buttered baking dish, just big enough to hold them.
Step 3
Sprinkle chopped onion over top.
Step 4
Pour melted butter and vinegar over potatoes; season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Tuck sprigs of lemon thyme around potatoes.
Step 6
Cover dish with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours, turning potatoes over during last half hour to coat with butter and vinegar.
Step 7
Potatoes and onions should be a deep golden brown.
