Step by Step Method

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients.

Step 2

Beat eggs, add molasses, sour milk and dry ingredients; smooth out (DO NOT beat).

Step 3

Add raisins and nuts.

Step 4

Pour into well greased loaf pan bake in 350 degree oven until shrinks from pan and tooth pick comes out clean (I'm guessing 45 minutes, no time given).

Very good bread which makes a lot of dough. It also rises a lot in the oven which surprised me as it only uses 1 tsp of baking soda. I didn't have enough molasses so used half molasses and half honey which worked out very well. I also used sour milk instead of buttermilk. The timing is off a bit, it took one hour for my bread to bake. Very good though with hotdogs and beans. Thanks for sharing!
