I used a four bean mix and followed the recipe through putting it on at night for baked beans on toast for breakfast. Mine did come out a bit watery looking but the flavour was fantastic so shall package up into one cup containers for freezing, thank you QueenBea, made for Billboard Recipe Tag Game. UPDATED - have frozen 6 cups worth plus I ate about 1/2 cup for breakfast on toast and the total cost was less than $5 for the ingredients with the bacon taking up nearly $4 of the cost - a very cheap wholesome and delicious meals ready to go.

These beans were very good. I liked that they weren't overly sweet and I enjoyed the slight clove flavor. My only problem was that they weren't cooked after 8 hours and I had to complete the cooking on the stove top as I started them quite early in the morning and didn't think they should be left in the crock until DH came home which would have been at least another 5 hours. They beans were purchased just a few days ago so I don't think the problem was their age. Next time I'll try a 10 hour cooking time.

These were very good and easy to put together, the kitchen smelled so good all afternoon. Next time I make these I will add a little more brown sugar, use chicken broth in place of water and omit the pinch of cloves. Thanks for posting.
