Step by Step Method

Step 1

Flatten out beef to bun size.

Step 2

Season meat and grill it.

Step 3

Grill bun until warm.

Step 4

Fry onions in butter until browned. (About 3 minutes on medium heat.)

Step 5

Mix mayonnaise with horseradish. Slather on top of bun.

Step 6

Add onions.

Step 7

Add beef to bottom bun.

Step 8

And put on top bun.


No special items needed.

Loved this! I have to admit I put cheese on all the burgers except mine....we love our cheese. But I wanted to taste it as posted. The horseradish mayo was delicious, and who doesn't love carmelized onions. I increased the recipe to serve 4, with no problems. Thanks for sharing your yummy recipe.

I think that this version is even better than the Original Dee. I loved it. The caramelized onions, Swiss cheese and horseradish/mayo mixture was delish when served on the bbq'd burger. I can't wait to have this again. Made FYC tag game.

Good burger. I knew that I'd love it because it has 2 of my favorite things..........horseradish and caramelized onions. Easy to make too. Thanks for sharing, Dee.

We very much enjoyed these burgers. We loved the horseradish mayo which brought in a whole lot of flavor goodness to these burgers. I didn't wind up caramelizing the onions due to time but will do that next time. We love burgers and we very much enjoyed this recipe. I will be making it again. Thank you dienia for sharing. Made it for Billboard tag.
