"This is a delicious waffle recipe I got from my sister in law oh so many years ago. This is the only thing that she could actually cook that didn't come from a box or can. This is my go to waffle recipe because it is just so moist and fluffy but very filling."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl

Step 2

Combine and mix milk, egg yolks and vanilla in a medium bowl

Step 3

Beat egg whites until stiff in a large bowl

Step 4

Add milk mixture to dry ingredients. Beat on high with mixer till ingredients are moistened

Step 5

Stir in cooled melted butter. Fold in egg whites leaving little fluffs showing in batter

Step 6

Pour batter into center of heated griddle till it spreads out to 1" of ends and cook till brown and done. My griddle takes about 5 or 6 minutes. All griddles vary so keep an eye on them. Makes 8 waffles

Step 7

Top with a sprinkle of icing sugar and a pat of butter and some maple syrup with a little side dish of fruits...Enjoy !!
