Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2
Fit crust into a quiche pan and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and then turn oven down to 375 degrees F.
Step 3
To make the filling: In a bowl of an electric mixer beat the eggs, flour and buttermilk.
Step 4
Pour some of the egg mixture on the bottom of the hot, prebaked pie shell and then add the asparagus and chives (save some of the asparagus tips for the top). Sprinkle the cheese over that and then pour the rest of the egg mixture over the vegetables and place some reserved asparagus tips on top.
Step 5
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until the custard is firm and the center doesn't wobble. Remove from oven and cool for 15 minutes before serving.
