"This is an old family Sunday night dinner. Lovely served with mashed potatoes or steamed rice, steamed green beans and glazed carrots. The timing will depend on the size and quality of your pot roast. When the roast reaches 170F internal temp it is just right. However if the cut is not tender at this point cook longer. Check internal temp after 2 hours. If ready remove from oven tent it and keep warm"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cut several slits in the top of the roast
Step 2
Place in a roasting pan
Step 3
Sprinkle with pepper and crushed garlic
Step 4
Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the roast
Step 5
Cover and bake in 350f oven for apprx 2 1/2 hours, check temp after 2 hours
Step 6
Let it rest for 10 minutes befor cutting
