"Pita chips and hummus are a staple in our house. This is the way I make pita chips for my family! I usually use Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread to make the chips -- but any pita bread should work. I have used both avocado oil and olive oil, but I think the chips made with the avocado oil are a little crispier, so I prefer that oil in this application."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450°F degrees.

Step 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix oil, garlic powder, cayenne and seasoned salt.

Place pita triangles in a bowl and pour seasoned oil over the pita triangles. Use your hands to toss the pita chips, rubbing the oil into each pita triangle.

Place pita triangles on prepared baking sheet.

Step 6

Bake for 4-6 minutes, until slightly browned. (All ovens are different -- keep a watch on them to make sure they don't burn the first time you make them!)
