Step 1

Blend flour and egg with a fork to form a stiff dough

Step 2

Roll out pieces of dough wafer thin about the size of a skillet

Step 3

Heat lard in a skillet

Step 4

Place pieces of dough in skillet one at a time fry until golden brown on one side turn and fry one minute more on second side

Step 5

Drain on paper towel

Step 6

When cool cut in strips 1/4 inch wide

Step 7

Simmer in beef broth 20 minutes

Step 8

Just before serving sprinkle with chives
