Step 1: Blend flour and egg with a fork to form a stiff dough
Step 2: Roll out pieces of dough wafer thin about the size of a skillet
Step 3: Heat lard in a skillet
Step 4: Place pieces of dough in skillet one at a time fry until golden brown on one side turn and fry one minute more on second side
Step 5: Drain on paper towel
Step 6: When cool cut in strips 1/4 inch wide
Step 7: Simmer in beef broth 20 minutes
Step 8: Just before serving sprinkle with chives
