Step by Step Method
Step 1
Brown hamburger in a medium saucepan; while meat is browning, dice up onion and add to meat along with garlic powder. Cook meat and onion until no longer pink. (If meat is fatty, drain but leave some grease for flavor.)
Step 2
Add the chili seasoning and mustard to meat mixture, while keeping a low flame under saucepan, stir. Add vinegar and sugar. Stir this mixture slightly.
Step 3
While stirring, add ketchup a little at a time to desired consistency.
Step 4
Cook simmering over a low heat 1 hour, stirring often.
Step 5
Note: If you cook the sauce uncovered, it will become somewhat thicker, if you have added too much ketchup.
