Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Step 2

Sprinkle bacon, ham, cheese and onion into pastry shells.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, cream, salt, sugar and cayenne pepper. Pour mixture into pastry shells. Do not overfill shells; reduce filling amounts as needed.

Step 4

Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake an additional 30 minutes or until a knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Allow quiche to sit 10 minutes before cutting into wedges.

I halved the recipe making 1 quiche and the minor changes I made were to make my own pastry for the pie crust and used a mix of gruyere and sharp cheddar as I did not have quite enough gruyere and at the DH's request I add some shredded baby spinach and we both enjoyed with a side of a garden salad for enjoyable dinner and managed to eat half of it between us and looking forward to another serving for lunch today, thank you DarlaMason made for Alphabet Tag Game at FF&F.
