Step 1

Mix all ingredients well with meat;

Form loaf.

Step 3

Place loaf in pan

Step 4

Cover top with additional tomato sauce (spread very thin over loaf).

Step 5

Set oven at 375 degrees and turn down to 350 degrees after 30 minutes.

Step 6

Bake for 50 minutes.

I mixed garlic powder, onion powder, ketchup and mustard in with the tomato sauce, for the topping and it kind of glazed up while baking. It made the meatloaf IMO! So good with mashed potatoes and green beans and bacon.

It took fifty years but I finally found something to like about Nixon--this recipe. Good old down home meatloaf. I love meatloaf and this is one of the best.
