Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook pasta according to directions.

Step 2

Meanwhile cook bacon in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat, stirring often, just until fat is rendered (3-5 minutes).

Step 3

Add onion; cook, stirring often until soft (about 5 minutes).

Step 4

Stir in garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and herbs, and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Stir in tomatoes with their liquid. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.

Step 6

Gently toss pasta with sauce.

Step 7

Serve with topped with shredded parmesan cheese.
