"At our house we roast many the turkey over the year, this is an old-fashioned family recipe we love and one we often make to add variety to our turkey dinners."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place cubed bread in large container and dry overnight.

Step 2

In large skillet melt butter over medium-low heat saute onions and celery, add seasonings, add hot broth.

Step 3

Slowly add and stir in the cubed bread into skillet mixing until evenly coated.

Step 4

Season cavity of turkey and stuff with the dressing.

Absolutely wonderful! As I cut our parsley from the garden out back we used less than the amount required. I also didn't have poultry seasoning so combined tarragon, thyme and marjoram (about 2 tsp each) to make the poultry seasoning. The dressing was wonderful (my bread was whole wheat) and a wonderful way to use up the extra loaf of bread. This made a lot and was enjoyed by all. Thanks for sharing!
