  • When selecting the beef chuck roast, look for one with good marbling for the best flavor.
  • Be sure to use a low sodium beef broth so that the dish does not become too salty.

  • Substitute olive oil for the vegetable oil for a more flavorful dish. The olive oil will add a subtle nutty flavor and a healthy dose of monounsaturated fats.
  • Substitute beef stock for the beef broth for a richer flavor. The beef stock will provide a more intense flavor and a deeper color to the dish.

This recipe couldn't be easier and it's very tasty. It was very tender and shredded easily After shredding it, I served it in flour tortillas with cheese and salsa. A great week night meal. Made for CQ19.

I use quite a few of the seasonings in this chuck roast recipe when I make my eye of round roast in the crock pot so knew the meat would have great flavor. The only difference is I added a couple pinches of red pepper flakes and not the 1/4 teaspoon. Couldnt be easier to make using the crock pot and the roast was fork tender. Had to sneak a couple bites while shredding it, so good! Thank you Dee for a fantastic chuck roast recipe. Made and reviewed for Susie's World Tour 2019 - Fusion.
