" Rice cookers are wonderful but if you don't have one this is the way to cook perfect rice.. I like to use Basmati long grain. I like to add a bit of extra flavor so I pop a chicken stock or other flavoring into the cooking water. Pre soaking your rice does remove some starch."

I think it's great that I don't have to cook my rice even half as long as I used to. This works great on brown rice too, because that's what I made and it was delicious and cooked to a tee!

WOW! I used short grain brown rice and I am impressed! My two cups worth took 14 minutes to cook to my desired tenderness but considering the rice normally takes 60 minutes after coming to a full boil, I'll take the 14 minutes any day! Thank you so much for sharring this cooking method! Made just because!
