Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325˚F.
Step 2
Submerge corned beef in cold water for 15 minutes. Drain and pat dry. (IMPORTANT STEP, if not, the corned beef will come out over salted. Believe me, I made this mistake and I like a salty corned beef).
Step 3
Place corned beef in a baking dish and add Guinness to the pan.
Step 4
In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, mustards, seasoning packet (that comes with the corned beef), and hot sauce. Rub this combo of seasonings all over the corned beef.
Step 5
Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 3 1/2 - 4 hours or until tender, removing the cover for the final 30 minutes of cooking (optional).
Step 6
Remove from oven and allow the corned beef to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
