Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place bread in a greased medium microwave-safe dish.

Step 2

In a 4-cup microwave-safe cup heat milk and butter on high power 3 minutes. Stir small amount of hot milk into beaten eggs. Return eggs to milk. Add sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla; mix until sugar is completely dissolved. Add in the raisins. Pour mixture over bread pieces.

Step 3

Cook on high 7 minutes. Cook 2 minutes longer if center is not firm.

Step 4

Drizzle with caramel sauce.

Very good. I wanted some bread pudding but didn't want to wait an hour, so this worked great. Only drawback is it doesn't get crusty like my oven version, but had lots of flavor.
