Mix vegetable ingredients, pour into 9x13 pan. Mix topping ingredients together. Put on the top of the veggie mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 - 45 minutes.

Who says old fashioned is passé, well they’re crazy! Love this type of casserole, it has all the goodness a veggie casserole should have. All the ingredients together are wonderful and rounded our meal out perfectly. Left out the water chestnuts, but it was already wonderful. I’ve never used Rice Krispies cereal as a topping, but it worked. Half way through cooking, tented the topping with aluminum foil to avoid it from over browning or burning, but removed it the last 10 minutes or so before pulling it out of the oven. Thank you, Dee, for sharing! Made it “For your Consideration” tag game.
