Step 1

Lay venison on board and pound flour into it.

Step 2

Melt drippings in a large frying pan; add in roast then brown.

Step 3

Add seasonings and one half of the water.

Step 4

Cover and let simmer for 55 minutes.

Step 5

Pour in rest of water and simmer until meat is done. 2 hours

This is a basic recipe that's really good. I needed something to tide us over. I had to use celery seed in place of celery. I used deer meat for my venison. I had so much that we'll have sandwiches for a couple days. The meat is really tender. It seems that the deer up here are a more tender meat anyways, so I only cooked for about an hour and a half and that was more than plenty. I pounded the heck out of it, though. Thanks again, Dee.
