"This is the original J.L.Hudson, now turned Macy's, recipe for their famous Maurice salad. Some say that Maurice was the head chef at Hudson's but it's unknown for sure. My mom's first job was in the flagship Hudson's Department Store in Detroit, MI. Although, this recipe doesn't start that far back, it is one that became a cult favorite in Detroit and the suburbs. I remember going to Hudson's with my mom to get this salad as a treat. You can store the dressing in your fridge for about 5 days. I hope you enjoy this Detroit classic!"

For the Dressing:

In a small bowl combine the vinegar, lemon juice, onion juice, sugar, Dijon and dry mustard; whisk well to dissolve the sugar.

Whisk in the mayonnaise, parsley and egg, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

In a large bowl, combine the ham, turkey, cheese and pickles and toss lightly. Pour the dressing over the salad and gently fold together.

Arrange a bed of lettuce on each plate. Top with the meat and cheese mixture and garnish each serving with 2 olives and serve.
