Step by Step Method

Step 1

Spray the inside of the slow cooker with cooking spray.

Step 2

Season the beef strips with the salt and pepper and place in the slow cooker.

Step 3

Lightly saute the onions.

Step 4

Add the onion, mushrooms, broth, tomato paste, and onion powder. Cover and cook on low for 10 hours, until the beef is tender.

Step 5

Shortly before serving time, cook the noodles according to the package directions. While they are cooking, mix the sour cream into the meat mixture in the slow cooker. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper, as needed.

Step 6

Serve the hot stroganoff over the noodles.

My only change was not to add the onion due to dietary needs and though quite nice we both thought the sauce was way too thin, even though I tried to thicken with a cornflour slurry, and the sauce did not coat the meat or pasta as we would have liked but it had good flavour and also I think I would add the mushrooms later as they were way overcooked but overall the flavours was good. Thank you dienia b made for Alphabet Soup tag game.
