Step 1

Form Italian seasoned ground turkey into 4 burgers, set aside.

Step 2

Heat grill or grill pan to high. Season burger patties with salt and pepper, if desired, and grill until pink, 6 minutes per side for medium. Add cheese and let melt, 1 minute.

Step 3

Meanwhile, grill onion slices and bell peppers until charred, 4 minutes. Season with salt. Once cool enough to handle, slice peppers into strips and separate onion into rings.

Step 4

Assemble burger: Spread bun bottom with marinara and top with patty, grilled peppers, onions, and basil.

This turkey burger is anything but boring. The sauce really wakes it up. I usedsalsa instead of marinara sauce. I pan fried the burger & peppers. I added a couple of mushrooms that were in the fridge. This recipe will have a repeat performance
