The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground turkey (Italian seasoned)
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices (4 ounces) provolone cheese
  • 3 green yellow and red (1 1/4 pounds) bell peppers
  • 1/2 sweet onion, sliced thickly
  • 1/4 cup marinara sauce
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • 4 (6 ounces) bread buns

How to Make

  • Step 1: Form Italian seasoned ground turkey into 4 burgers, set aside.

  • Step 2: Heat grill or grill pan to high. Season burger patties with salt and pepper, if desired, and grill until pink, 6 minutes per side for medium. Add cheese and let melt, 1 minute.

  • Step 3: Meanwhile, grill onion slices and bell peppers until charred, 4 minutes. Season with salt. Once cool enough to handle, slice peppers into strips and separate onion into rings.

  • Step 4: Assemble burger: Spread bun bottom with marinara and top with patty, grilled peppers, onions, and basil.
