Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Put potatoes in heavily salted boiling water and cook until soft.

Step 3

Drain and mash the potatoes, add seasoning to taste.

Step 4

Add milk and mix together well.

Step 5

Beef in one skillet cook beef until brown.

Step 6

In another skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat.

Step 7

Add carrots and onions and cook until softened.

Step 8

Add flour and cook a bit but don't brown.

Step 9

Add herbs and beef stock and simmer until thickened.

Step 10

Add drained, cooked beef and season to taste.

Step 11

Stir in peas.

Step 12

Put the filling in Pam sprayed pie plate.

Step 13

Spread mashed potatoes on top and bake for 10minutes until potatoes start to brown.

Step 14

Layer cheese on top and put back in oven until cheese melts, another 5 minutes.
