"This is how I like sun tea. You can make Southern sweet tea this way, and I used to do that before I stopped adding sugar to my tea when I was in my twenties. Now I just take mine with some lemon. On a picnic or while camping, just set this out in the sun while you are having fun, and it will soon be ready. Just cover the top with saran wrap and a big rubber band to keep out unwanted pests."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Remove any tags from the tea bags (prevents dye from leeching into the tea) and place them in the bottom of a clear, glass, 1/2 gallon pitcher.

Step 2

Fill with cold water , add lemon and lime and cover with plastic wrap and a rubber band.

Step 3

Place outdoors in the sun (can do out of the sun as well, but takes just a bit longer).

Step 4

Allow to brew for 5-6 hours or until it is as dark as you like (warmer weather brews it faster).

Step 5

Remove tea bags and fruit and serve tea over ice, sweetened with honey if desired (mix it in while tea is warm).

Step 6

Tea will keep about 6 hours, after which the quality decreases rapidly (just like old brewed coffee).
