Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350º.

Combine the soy sauce and next 6 ingredients (through garlic), in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk.

Cut a 1-inch deep slit in the meaty end of each drumstick. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Heat an oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Coat the pan with cooking spray. Add the drumsticks; cook 4 minutes, browning on each side. Add the sauce, turn to coat. Place the pan in the oven. Bake at 375º for 15 minutes, turning occasionally.

Step 4

Prepare the snow peas according to the package directions. Prepare the rice according to the package directions. Combine the snow peas. rice, remaining 1/4 teaspoon pepper, zest, and salt in a bowl.

Step 5

Drizzle any remaining soy sauce mixture over the drumsticks and serve with the rice and snow peas.
