Harry Truman's Meatloaf Recipe
"Serve with buttered peas and mashed potatoes brown gravy, other recipes did 1/3 ground veal, 1/3 ground pork, 1/3 ground beef, it was standard mix in the 50's. This is a very mild meatloaf. President Truman did not like dishes that had onion in them hence the onion juice lol"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a loaf pan.
Step 2
Combine beef, egg yolks, parsley, 2 tablespoons butter, bread crumbs, chili sauce, salt, pepper and onion juice, Worcestershire sauce and kitchen bouquet. Mix thoroughly. Place in prepared pan.
Step 3
Combine remaining 1/2 cup butter with boiling water. Brush over loaf.
Step 4
Bake meatloaf 1 hour, brushing frequently with butter mixture (other recipes say 90 minutes).
Step 5
To serve, heat tomato sauce,

Cut meatloaf into slices.
Step 7
Serve with tomato sauce on the side. and poured over middle of slice.
