"Although I use my slow-cooker often, I just recently bought some Reynolds slow-cooker liners for the 1st time & this yummy sounding recipe was part of the folded paper insert. While I did not include it as part of this recipe, it goes w/o saying that the use of the Reynolds liners was a primary part of the original recipe. Enjoy!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place apples in the slow-cooker & drizzle w/lemon juice.

Step 2

Mix the next 5 ingredients (granulated sugar thru nutmeg) in a med bowl. Sprinkle mixture over the apples & stir gently to coat them w/the mixture.

Step 3

Drizzle the coated apples w/the melted butter.

Step 4

Cook on LOW for 3 hrs or HIGH for 2 hrs (until apples are done).

Step 5

Allow mixture to cool, transfer to a container w/a lid & store in your fridge until ready for use.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS: May be used chilled, at room temp or warmed to top ice cream, bread pudding, rice pudding, pancakes, waffles, French toast, oatmeal, etc. For my pic, I served the apple mixture atop a waffle w/whipped cream as a brunch dessert.

Sweet, tasty and effortless to prepare. We had some on top of our pancakes and bacon this morning. They really complemented the other components of the meal!

We had this last night. I had mine over pancakes and sausage. Next time I make it, I'll put it over oatmeal. Yum! It was sweet, but not sickening, syrupy sweet. I liked the nutmeg. I made it for the 2019 "Alphabet Soup" forum game.

What a tasty treat! I only had 2 apples and love toppings like this, so I didn't cut down the topping. That was really a mistake as I think it was a bit too much. Next time I'll follow the recipe proportions. My apples were about to go bad, but that didn't impact them in this recipe at all. A big plus. I did add some steal coat oats into the topping...personal preference. Would probably go with rolled oats next time. I ate half warm from the oven and the other half cold the next day. Both ways yummy!
