Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2

In a bowl, cream softened margarine or butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg, sour cream and vanilla; mix well.

Step 3

Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix will. Gently fold in cashews.

Step 4

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven 8-10 minutes. Remove from pan onto cooling racks; cool thoroughly.

Step 5

To make the frosting: lightly brown butter in pan; remove from heat. Add in cream and vanilla. Beat in confectioners sugar until smooth & thick.

Step 6

Frost cookies and decorate each cookie with a cashew half.

My niece told me about these cookies so I came here looking for them and voila, here they were! I made a double batch to have some for home and some to bring to my brother and we absolutely loved them! They would be great for holiday gifts and I will be keeping it for that!
