Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Step 2: In a bowl, cream softened margarine or butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg, sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
Step 3: Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix will. Gently fold in cashews.
Step 4: Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven 8-10 minutes. Remove from pan onto cooling racks; cool thoroughly.
Step 5: To make the frosting: lightly brown butter in pan; remove from heat. Add in cream and vanilla. Beat in confectioners sugar until smooth & thick.
Step 6: Frost cookies and decorate each cookie with a cashew half.
