Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat cook the pork with beef, veal, potatoes and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain then add in the garlic, seasoned salt, dry herbs and 1/4 cup beef broth, bring to a medium simmer, then reduce heat and cover simmering for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently.

Step 2

Remove from the heat; cool to room temperature, then stir in bread crumbs.

Step 3

Combine egg and remaining 3 tablespoons beef broth; stir into meat mixture.

Step 4

Line a 9-inch pie plate with bottom pastry; trim even with edge. Fill with meat mixture. Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie; place over filling. Trim, seal and flute edges. Cut slits in pastry. Cover edges loosely with foil.

Step 5

Bake at 400 degree F oven (bottom oven rack) for 15 minutes; remove foil, reduce heat to 375 degrees F bake 30-35 minutes longer or until crust is golden brown.
