Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a pitcher, combine the cold water, freshly squeezed lemon juice, granulated sugar, ground cardamom, ground nutmeg, and ground black pepper. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 2

Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness or spices according to your preference. Add more sugar or spices if desired and stir until well incorporated.

Step 3

Fill glasses with ice cubes.

Step 4

Pour the spiced lemonade over the ice cubes in each glass.

Step 5

Garnish with lemon slices and mint leaves.

Step 6

Stir the lemonade gently before serving to distribute the flavors.

Step 7

Serve the chilled, over ice.

I wasn't sure what to expect given the addition of both the cardamom and nutmeg, but what a pleasant surprise. It provides a warming note. Instead of throwing out the lemon rinds that had been squeezed, threw them into the lemonade along with the mint and the additional lemon slices. Also added a bit more lemon juice to make it a bit more lemony. Delicious and refreshing. Thank you, NE Lady, for sharing. Made it for The AmaZ'ing Race 2023 - Denmark leg and for Billboard tag game.
