"This recipe is an old favorite of mine when I hosted my Curry Dinners. I am lazy now and buy it ready made. The first ingredient Black Gram is also known as Sabut Urad or Vigna Mungo is is a black lentil. Do not confuse it with the small black bean lentils. It is available in any East Indian market and in some chain grocery stores This is even better the next day. Your time needed for cooking is overnight soaking and then 2-3 hours simmering the lentils until they are very soft."
