Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425° Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Sprinkle a thick layer of sugar on a pastry board.

Step 3

Place puff pastry on top of sugar and, using a rolling pin, roll into a neat oblong. (Sprinkle pastry with cinnamon, if using, now)

Step 4

Fold one long side of puff pastry inward, like a jellyroll, stopping at the centre.

Step 5

Repeat on the other side. The 2 sides will meet in the centre.

Step 6

Cut into 1/4 inch slices and press each slice into sugar.

Step 7

Place slices on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 8

Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.

Step 9

Turn over and bake for another 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown.

Since I was a small child I have always loved elephant ear pastries! This recipe makes mini elephant ears and they are so tasty and easy to make! They are going to be a Christmas tradition at our house from now on! Thanks for posting! Made for Billboard tag.
