Step 1

Cream sugar and butter (you can use 1/2 shortening).

Step 2

Add eggs one at time. Add vanilla almond extract

Step 3

Mix flour and baking powder. Add to wet mixture.

Step 4

Spread 3/4 of the dough on a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.or jelly roll pan (check sooner for this).

Step 5

Spread pie filling in strips (I just slathered on cherry pie filling and dropped clumps on top). Cover strips with remaining dough.

Step 6

Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 7

While baking bars, mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and butter glaze ingredients together, adding just enough milk to make runny. Drizzle glaze over bars.
