Step 1

Gather the ingredients.

Put the chocolate chips, cocoa, and 1/4 cup of the milk (about 60 ml) in a small saucepan over a medium heat.

Allow the chocolate to melt into the milk while stirring with a wooden spoon.

Add the rest of the milk and whisk lightly until well mixed and foamy.

Step 5

Add the brandy or rum, if using.

Step 6

Pour into small cups, top with whipped cream, dust with cinnamon, and serve piping hot.

OMG this is good! Love the richness from the chocolate chips. I used the optional brandy, which took it over the top! This stuff is dangerous!!!

What an idyllic treat! This was rich and delicious with just the right amount of sweetness from the dark chips. Highly recommend trying as this is now our number one favorite cocoa.
