"Found this on taste of home in their soup cookbook. Lil Morris wrote that she lived in Arctic so had to order nonperishable groceries a year ahead of time so this soup became staple as ingredients found easily. I added 4 cups more water as really thick"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In large saucepan cook round steak, onion and garlic in oil until meat is browned and onion tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 2

Stir in water, tomatoes, consomme and seasonings, bring to boil.

Step 3

Reduce heat:cover and simmer until meat is tender about 1 1/2 hours.

Step 4

Stir in pasta and green pepper, Simmer uncovered , until noodles are tender, about 8 minutes. Add parsley
