"I've been making this recipe since the 70's. It's incredibly easy with fantastic results. They're good enough to give away as gifts and include in your Christmas tray. The recipe is also very forgiving. You don't need to follow the ingredient quantities to the letter. You'll still have a fantastic candy. Use good quality chocolate chips for the best results. Toll House brand works well."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips either in top of double boiler or in microwave for about 5 minutes (microwaves vary so watch closely).

Step 2

Stir mixture.

Step 3

Add peanuts and mix well.

Step 4

Drop by the spoonful onto wax paper lined tray and refrigerate until hard.

This is one of the easiest sweet treats I've ever made and they're really good. I will definitely make these again. I used the butterscotch chips.

Oh these are very habit forming, I used roasted peanuts I don't know what Spanish peanuts are {{blush}} I also used milk chocolate chips, I definately wil make more for the holidays, thank you for sharing your wonderful recipe Dreamer in Ontario there no need to buy expensive chocolate bars when you can make these.
