"You can use any ground big game meat, or ground beef if you must. You can also add additional seasoning to the meatballs if you wish. Adapted from The Alaskan Wilderness Cookbook."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place stock in a large pot.

Step 2

Bring to a simmer.

Step 3

Meanwhile, combine meat, egg, bread crumbs, and onion.

Step 4

Blend and shape into 1/2" to 3/4" meatballs. Add a few more crumbs if mixture is too wet to shape.

Step 5

Add meatballs to stock.

Step 6

Simmer for 30-45 minutes.

Step 7

If desired, throw in some cooked vegetables a few minutes before serving.
