"Here's a classic recipe all dolled up with a gooey layer of buttery caramel sauce sandwiched between two delicious layers of chocolate brownie. These are just about as easy and good as it gets! I have been known to add nuts into the caramel sauce too, so if you like nuts try some."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine caramels and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in a small saucepan. Heat on low heat until the caramels are melted. Stir constantly while the caramels are melting. Add the nuts when the caramel is melted, if you are using them, mixing in, then take off the heat.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, butter, flour, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

Step 3

Spread half of the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan.

Step 4

Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.

Step 5

As soon as the bottom layer comes out of the oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread on caramel sauce.

Step 6

Top with remaining cake mixture, and bake for another 15-18 minutes. Cool completely before serving.

Everyone in my family knows that my house is filled with goodies around the holidays and stop in often to indulge. These brownies please us all and were gone fast! My hubs wants me to make another batch. So good!

My son and I love these brownies and now he asks me all the time to make them. They are so delicious with the caramel and I added nuts to make them even better. A favorite to be made often!

My kids went to their NaNa's house and she had made them these brownies. They came home all excited telling me I had to get the recipe from her so I could make them at home. I finally did and made the the first time yesterday so I could bring some to my grandfather, who loves sweets. The kids are happy as larks and my papa loved the ones I brought him too. Looks like these will be a regular at my house!

The hardest part was unwrapping 50 caramels, these are to die for, I'm making them again to take to an upcoming potluck and I'm sure they will fly off the plate, thanks so much AnnJMe
