Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 50 Kraft caramels, unwrapped
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk (in the can)
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) German Chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 12 ounces milk chocolate chips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine caramels and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in a small saucepan. Heat on low heat until the caramels are melted. Stir constantly while the caramels are melting. Add the nuts when the caramel is melted, if you are using them, mixing in, then take off the heat.

  • Step 2: In a separate bowl, combine cake mix, butter, flour, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

  • Step 3: Spread half of the cake mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan.

  • Step 4: Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.

  • Step 5: As soon as the bottom layer comes out of the oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips and spread on caramel sauce.

  • Step 6: Top with remaining cake mixture, and bake for another 15-18 minutes. Cool completely before serving.
