Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the Cajun spice seasoning - paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, dried oregano, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined. This will be your homemade Cajun spice seasoning.

Step 2

Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes.

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the cubed sweet potatoes, olive oil, and Cajun spice seasoning. Toss well to ensure the sweet potatoes are evenly coated with the seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Place the seasoned sweet potato cubes in the air fryer basket. You may need to work in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Step 5

Cook the sweet potatoes in the air fryer for about 15 minutes, shaking the basket or tossing the sweet potatoes halfway through the cooking time. This will help them cook evenly and become crispy.

Step 6

After 15 minutes, check the sweet potatoes for desired doneness. If they're not yet crispy and cooked through, continue cooking for a few more minutes.

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the Cajun cubed sweet potatoes from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving dish. Serve immediately (pairs well with Ranch dressing and/or BBQ sauce).
