Step by Step Method
Step 1
Sift first 6 ingredients (flour, cocoa, coffee, cinnamon, baking powder, salt) together 3 times. If you like, stir wheat germ into these sifted dry ingredients. Set aside.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl combine the rest of the ingredients in the order given.
Step 3
Add the sifted dry ingredients to this mixture and blend.
Step 4
If using nuts, add these last.
Step 5
Bake in 9" square pan, greased, at 350' about 30 minutes.
Step 6
Cool and cut into 9-18 squares.
