"I found this in a Betty Crocker Cookbook years ago - Actually decades. Ever since I have made it everyone I have served it to I, My Mother and my sister this has beecome the recipe everyone goes to to make a pot roast. My sister also throws in some carrots and potatoes but I don't like meaty flavored vegetables. Sorry I like as is I don't add vegetables nor use the ingredients for a gravy mixture. Mom often served this for sunday dinner after I first made it for her. She has also made it in a skillet, on top of the stove or in the oven. It is so good I doubt it will serve 14 as people devouer it."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Brown beef in oil, sprinkle with pepper

Step 2

Add water and boullion.

Step 3

Heat to boiling, reduce heat, cover, simmer on top range or cook 325 oven until tender - about 3 hours

If you want to make the gravy Using 3 cups drippings add optional water and flour. Boil 1 minutes serve gravy with beef
