"Living in Florida, I can get shrimp pretty inexpensive year round - so, shrimp is on my menu at least once a week. This is a quick recipe and always great for parties. Make sure to serve with both sauces. The shrimp can be served warm, room temp or chilled."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cocktail Sauce ... Mix everything together in a small bowl, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

Step 2

Lemon Butter Sauce ... Mix everything together in a small bowl, cover and set to the side. You will microwave it right before serving with the shrimp. Just heat 1 minute in the microwave on medium heat until melted.

Step 3

Shrimp ... Add the beer, peppercorns, cayenne, old bay seasoning and the lemon to a very large saute pan - not a pot. Make sure to squeeze the lemon pieces over the pan to get the juice and then throw in the pieces you squeezed in which will add great flavor. Bring to a boil and reduce to low, simmer 5 minutes. Bring back up to a light boil and add in the shrimp. Cook 4-5 minutes turning them often. This is more of a steaming method vs a boiling method. Cook until the shrimp just begin to turn pink and curl. Do NOT over cook them, they will continue to cook after they are removed from the pot.

Step 4

Serve ... Serve the shrimp warm, room temp or chilled along with the melted butter and cocktail sauce. And, don't forget to set out an extra bowl for the peels. ENJOY!
